What the check finds
The page tells search engines not to show a text snippet from it. The page can still be indexed, but its text cannot be quoted, which removes it from answers that work by citation.
Why it matters for AI answers
A nosnippet rule stops engines quoting the page text. Google applies it to AI Overviews too, so the page cannot be quoted in answers that work by citation.
How to fix it
- Remove nosnippet from the robots meta tag and the X-Robots-Tag header unless it is intended.
- To limit snippet length instead, use max-snippet with a number of characters.
- To hide only one block of text, use the data-nosnippet attribute on that element.
