Using GeckoCheck’s AI advertising insights

Learn how to read AI ads visibility, Competitor ads, and Top ad triggers without confusing observed ads with reach, spend, or sales.

Start with the question you want to answer

Use GeckoCheck’s advertising insights to investigate where sponsored brands appear, what competitors are saying, and which commercial questions are associated with those placements. Choose a brand, platform, market, and reporting period that match the decision you are making.

This guide explains the feature areas in GeckoCheck’s AI-advertising overview. Available controls and coverage depend on your workspace; it does not assume an undocumented menu, export function, or campaign-management integration.

Read AI ads visibility

Review ChatGPT and Google AI Overview observations separately. Check the unit, coverage, and comparison period supplied with the result before drawing a conclusion from a count or percentage change. A growth percentage without its baseline cannot establish improved reach.

Do not treat an observed-ad count as unique ads, impressions across all users, spend, or market share unless the report explicitly defines it that way. If a definition or denominator is unclear, ask support before using it in an external report.

Inspect Competitor ads

Look at which brands appear and the messaging associated with them. Distinguish the advertiser, promoted product, offer, and placement. Repeated appearances may reflect one creative observed several times rather than several distinct campaigns.

Use the observations to identify a relevant customer need or message gap. They do not reveal a competitor’s bid, targeting configuration, budget, return on ad spend, or complete campaign inventory.

Use Top ad triggers

An ad trigger is a prompt associated with an observed ad in the tracked sample. Compare its commercial intent and wording with the question your buyer is trying to answer. A prompt association is not proof of an advertiser’s purchased keyword or targeting rule.

Illustrative product example, not live data

The supplied product illustration shows ChatGPT 142 (+72%) and Google AI Overview 87 (+34%); Velora 12 ads, Brand B 8 ads, and Brand C 5 ads. It also shows “best carry-on luggage” 12, “lightweight suitcase” 8, “international travel luggage” 7, and “carry-on comparison” 5. These are illustrative display values, not measured customer results or benchmarks.

The example question “What’s the best carry-on for frequent international travel?” and the sponsored copy “Velora — Travel light. Go further.” illustrate a buying context and ad message. They do not show a real campaign or prove that a particular prompt will cause an ad.
