Overview
Google's assistant, in its own app and across Android and Google Workspace.
Versions
Gemini 3.5 Flash
Released
Released in the Gemini app and as the default in AI Mode in Search. Google describes it as a fast model for multimodal understanding, coding, and multi-step agentic work. Gemini app availability does not establish the backend used for any GeckoCheck result.
Gemini 3.1 Pro
A documented reasoning-focused model for complex tasks, offered across the Gemini app and developer products. Product access and limits vary.
Gemini 4 Argon, announced with limited access
Announced on 30 September 2026 for complex coding, knowledge work, and cyber defense. The announcement describes access for trusted cyber defenders and a phased wider release; it should not be described as generally available in the Gemini app.
Capabilities
Multimodal understanding
Gemini models combine language with visual understanding. Supported inputs and features depend on the model and the product surface.
Reasoning and coding
Can work through complex questions, generate and revise code, and help with structured professional tasks. Google emphasizes coding and sustained reasoning in its recent model announcements.
Agentic workflows
With an appropriate tool environment, Gemini can plan and execute multi-step tasks. Model capability alone does not provide access to external tools or accounts.
Long-form research and synthesis
Can analyze supplied information and produce explanations, summaries, and structured outputs. A model response is not automatically evidence that a live web search occurred.
Gemini in GeckoCheck
GeckoCheck reads how Gemini answers the queries a brand cares about: whether it names the brand, how it describes it, who it names instead, and which pages it cites.
Each model is read and graded on its own, because each answers differently. A brand's plan sets which models it tracks.
